Meet the Members
Nutritionists create and apply scientific knowledge to promote an
understanding of the effects of diet on health and well-being of humans and
animals. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist but Sense members
are all nutritionists whose qualifications are recognised by the Nutrition
Society. Most members are registered with the Nutrition Society either
as a Registered Nutritionist or a Registered Public Health Nutritionist.
Some Sense members are Registered Dietitians and
they are registered with the Health Professions Council.
Dietitians are clinically trained and often
work in a therapeutic role. They interpret and communicate the science
of nutrition to enable people to make informed and practical choices about
food and lifestyle, in health and disease.
